I just looove seeing the results / effects of Alternate Nostril breathing (Anuloma Viloma)!  

We did it today during Restorative Yoga.  Immediately, you see the effects.  

I personally begin to yawn when I haven’t done it in awhile.  It’s my body’s way of detoxing.  I saw a few yogis earlier who did just that.  But the most telling effect is when people remain seated for a long period of time, unable to move.  

Breathing in through the LEFT nostril, then breathing the same air out through the RIGHT nostril.  Breathing again through the RIGHT nostril, then breathing out throughout the LEFT, balances the LEFT AND THE RIGHT hemispheres of the brain.  And it definitely CALMS the mind (easily into meditation).

I witnessed this today.  It was beautiful.
