KAPALABATI

“Kapala” means “Skull” in sanskrit.  “Bhati” means “Shining”.

Kapalabati is one of the main breathing exercises that I practice.  Every day.  First thing in the morning.  

It cleanses the entire system, thus, makes the face Shine with Good Health and Radiance.  It is also energizing because it increases the oxygen to the brain.  It refreshes and invigorates the mind in preparation, either for a busy day, or right into Meditation. 

Physical benefits include:

Cleanses nasal passage, lungs, and entire respiratory system.

Increases capacity of the lungs.

Strengthens ribcage muscles.

Helps drain sinuses.

The movement of the diaphragm and abdominal contractions massage the stomach, spleen, heart, pancreas.

Strengthens abdominal muscles.

Digestion is improved.
