LIFE TAKES US WHERE IT NEEDS TO GO

I co-taught yesterday with a very giving yoga teacher.   She’s beautiful.  Always learning.  Always teaching.  Forgiving.  Loving.  Giving.  Cute.  Sexy.  I can go on and on.  Plus she’s 75 years old!

I was in a class with her (we were both students) and she spoke of her previous goal of doing a handstand away from the wall by the time she turned 70.  And now that she’s past 70, she’s thinking it will never happen and that’s completely OK.

We can plan so much.  We can have many goals.  But in the end, life takes us where it needs to go.

My co-teacher may not be doing the handstand free from the wall, but she may also be more content in her daily life.  She may be more forgiving now than before she turned 70.

I know I am a different person now than even just one year ago.  There is so much we can learn in just one year.

I don’t work on my handstand much nowadays, but I do work on my patience.  Acceptance.  My breath.  Anatomy of the body.  Anatomy of the spirit.  And lots more.
